I'm fine. Dems is fine. Bryce is a Rangers fan already cheering for them to beat the Sens in game seven and you all have no idea how much that makes me proud.

That being said, I really want to kill something right now. Well maybe not kill. Punch until bloody and unconscious. Yeah that'll do.

I mean just my sister is pregnant and it's an at-risk pregnancy and well she doesn't handle bed rest well. My brother in law is patient and longsuffering and they have kind of the perfect marriage.

Until they start fighting. He needed to spend some time out and about and not keeping her entertained. She picked a fight with him. He got mad and left and then she went into early labor.

He got mugged and hit his head pretty hard and it's all kind of a mess. He's in the hospital and she's all but living there, dividing her time between the NICU and his room.

And just. Yeah.

So New York was amazing fun. Bryce did really well at the hockey game and he came home with all the baby Rangers gear in the Madison Square Garden shop that I could find. He waved his arms at all the goals and enjoyed gumming on one of the pretzels.

It was a good time. Demi and Zoe got to do the shopping thing and they needed their girl time so yay Dad and Son and Moose bonding.

Seeing my parents was also great, even though I think we scarred some people with the texted pictures of my parents embracing St. Paddy's Day with everything they had. Also I will never look at Lucky Charms the same way again.

Work's not going badly. Solved a couple of major structural issues with the project I have now. Spoke to some people in the business and got some ideas floated for another possible project down the road.

So tell me Portage, how was your St. Paddy's Day? The most entertaining story will get a prize.

So I've been working really hard with writing the version that Dems and I want for the opening play for our theater. It's going to take the world Portage by storm. Bryce is already starting to make adorable demands. It's the BLUE toy, Daddy or Mommy, not the GREEN. He's very attached to the red blanket (thank you Aunt Wendy) and the gray teddy (thank you Grandpa Ben).

...And other than watching Bryce and adoring my beautiful wife in the manner to which she is accustomed and working on the play... I've gotten a good idea for another book. Might self-publish, might not. Apparently the forums are still mourning my sudden and abrupt decision to retire from that particular market.

To which all I can say is that it was beautiful writing for them when I wasn't living it. And now that I am? The words on the page all turn out to be the same story. The story of me and Dems is awesome (and definitely movie-worthy) BUT it would be better served as a different sort of book rather than the lurid prose treatment I'd have to give it.

So yeah. Also I'm really enjoying catching up on my reading and watching a few shows here and there (Revenge, Suburgatory)

So Demi and I are currently engaged in the hardest decision ever. Well there are a couple of hard decisions. The first being what play we're opening the theater with. The second being what age we're going to expose Bryce to the wonders of magical musical theater. I personally think that the sooner the better, Demi thinks we should wait until after he can walk.

Which slowly he's working on. Along with the whole saying Dada, Mama, and INCONCEIVABLE.

Yes, I'm a dork. This is not news, internet. Not news at all.

Research [11 Feb 2012|08:29pm]
I really hate stuff that takes me away from Bryce and Demi. Even if it's for a good reason. Even if it's allowing me to see family and pick up more presents for the theater and the family and everyone's favorite grandson.

Still.

I hate being away from my family. I'll be heading back to Portage tomorrow and it can't come soon enough. My baby boy is apparently making all the faces at my wife because Dad's not there to tell him all the stories at bedtime and yeah. Sleeping without my wife sucks. Or rather I should say trying to sleep without her there sucks. Because without her here with me, I haven't really been sleeping at all.

So yeah.
